One thing that lots of people really struggle with on a diet, is the lack of carbohydrates. We are told carbs are fattening and bad for us. On Slimming World it's simply not the case. It is for me, one of the reasons the plan works so well. I LOVE CARBS.
You can eat potatoes, dried pasta, rice, noodles, couscous and still loose weight. I do try to have wholegrain when possible for extra fibre. I have embraced sweet potatoes because they help keep your blood sugar stable compared to white potatoes, well that's what I tell myself. The fact is they are particularly delicious as wedges, sprinkles with sweet smoked paprika, garlic granules, spritzed with Frylight and roasted for 30 minutes or so. I do however eat plenty of white potatoes, rice and pasta too. It's just a matter of portion control and how you cook them, that really makes the difference.
So if you want chips, you can have them (Slimming World chips are yummy), if you love cheesy risotto or pasta dishes, go for it and if chicken chow mein is your thing, enjoy.
If you still don't believe me, look at my before and now pictures. Oh and my recipes too.
